In this book you'll learn how to do it yourself, at home. What's here is more than enough to get you started and give you a real foundation in the method. Using the easy-to-follow instructions in the book, in under 3 minutes, I cleared a stuffy nose and went to bed breathing freely and easily for the first time in days. And you do this sitting down, with no pills or sprays or anything. On top of that, by breathing this way, you focus better and your energy stays balanced much longer. For example, I used to feel sleepy after lunch, and would find myself yawning and ready to doze off for a nap. Now I follow the instructions in the book, and in less than 5 minutes, I am rested and ready to go. Another very nice benefit is feeling great upon waking every morning, even after having just six hours of sleep.

The information in this book is very powerful. It is also counterintuitive until you understand Dr. Buteyko's discoveries. For the past 20 years I have worn out three CPAP machines and a dental appliance trying to relieve my diagnosed severe sleep apnea condition. I believe the condition and the CPAP machines caused me to undergo three heart catheter ablation operations for persistant atrial fibrillation. After only three weeks using the information in this book along with some personal consultations with the author I am now breathing normally and free from using dental appliance gizmos and CPAP contraptions while sleeping. It is key, as another reviewer has said, that you do the exercises and follow instructions.

By following the simple instruction in this book I have conquered my congestion issues. I was told I had COPD and given Ventolin as a method of clearing the congestion. I was also told it would only get worse by the medical person I dealt with and the they had no idea what caused the problem. I was inhaling 200 times a month ($63 in drugs) just to breathe. Now I know the REAL REASON for the congestion and have totally handled the problem using the techniques in this book. No drugs for over 3 months now and my lungs are clear. Thank you for making the truth known!

I haven't had asthma since I was 13 yet for the last 13 years (I am now 26) I had this very annoying feeling of not being able to take a deep breath. It stuck with me for a very long time and no matter what I tried it never got away.This feeling was also accompanied with dizziness, tingling lips, digestion problems and cold feet/hands.It brought out alot of frustration and many doctors thought that I was suffering from anxiety since all the other tests were clear.I was subscribed with SSRI and was told to take it regulary to stop my symptoms. I refused, and decided to search the internet for an answer instead.Then I stumbled upon this method and decided to buy the book. I tried doing the exercises and even though it was every hard, the very next day I already felt a relief: I could finally go a whole day without feeling like I need to yawn all the time!I am going to keep doing the exercises and decrease my breathing rate.Thank you for writing this book.

This book and the Buteyko method are fantastic. After decades of battling asthma and chronic sinusitis, they are now almost gone after less than a month with Buteyko. Every person, regardless of age, who has been diagnosed with asthma should check out the Buteyko method. It has made a major, positive difference in my life.

A gem. I was diagnosed with Asthma well into my adulthood and was prescribed steroids, etc. I started breathing the right way and got rid of the inhalers. This year my allergies are gone and I go to the gym or walk hard 3-5 times a week, and I live in a dirty-aired city.

This is a very unique publication containing original texts by Dr. Buteyko. There are also texts by three other medical professionals explaining why and how the Breathing Normalization method works. The book offers step-by-step instructions on how to improve your breathing. To me it was extremely useful. I was able to stop most of my asthma trouble by following recommendations in this book. Anyone who has asthma can benefit enormously by reading this book.

The information about cholesterol is good, but it is found in other articles and books. This book focuses mostly on the recipes and is the primary reason why I purchased the book.The main complaint I have with the recipes is the difficulty finding the listed ingredients. The only way these recipes will work well with the general health conscious public, is if the ingredients are readily available from the large chain supermarkets. Sadly, this is not the case.I chose a few recipes at random and went to Wal-mart, Fresh Market, Harmons, Smiths, and Nature Moon Health stores. There were several ingredients that were hard to find and some that could not be found at all. Here is an example:- unsweetened shredded coconut. 1/5 stores had it. Most only had sweetened.- rye flakes 0/5 stores carried rye flakes. This was a specialty item that had to be ordered online (expensive)- pure maple extract (not syrup) 0/5 stores carried it. This was a specialty item that had to be ordered online (expensive)- barley malt power 0/5 stores carried it. We are not talking about the sweetened, malted milk mix, but barley malt flour. It was not specified in the recipe if this should be diastatic or non-diastatic. However neither one was locally available. This had to be ordered online (expensive).I just chose three random recipes. If the other 100 recipes are similar, it will be very difficult for the average person to shop for these ingredients. It's too bad that the authors didn't take into account convenience and expense. I think it is possible to put together recipes that use readily available ingredients.

I loved the book this cookbook is based on. My only complaint with this book is that it spends a lot of time going over what is already covered in the The Great Cholesterol Myth book. So if you are buying this because of reading that book you will feel a little ripped off. If more of the pages would have been devoted to recipes and less to why you need to eat this way I would have gave it five stars. The recipes are great and tie in perfectly with the companion book. However if you haven't read The Great Cholesterol Myth book then this book will be a five star for you.

Contains a great prescription for supplements to improve heart health. For example, I've been taking a statin drug for a couple of years, but my doctor didn't tell me I needed to be taking CoQ10 along with it. The book explains why it is necessary and I've added it to my regimen. The arguments for fish oil and heart health were convincing, and I've added back a good quality fish oil as suggested. Will continue to make changes - not only with supplements but diet as well as I wend my way through the pages of this excellent book!

First half highlights the contents in the book by the same name. Second half is recipes. I plan to try some of them, but likely will change a few of the ingredients, because they are not ketogenic. Recipes do look to be easily changed to ketogenic.

This is a fantastic cook book. I purchased the Great Cholesterol Myth book, then saw the cookbook and had to purchase it. Every recipe is so delicious.I can't say enough about this book , I would recommend this it to everyone
