I enjoyed these books when I was a child. It came in quite handy when my nephew was a little boy and hated reading. I believe the key to creating a love of reading is to give them a subject they will enjoy. He loved dirtbikes. So Ralph S. Mouse it would be. He read all three of the series. Now that he has a baby boy, I thought I better buy them in hardback to make sure I will have copies to last another generation.

Great book! I read this series as a child and recently started reading this series with my son recently. We have blown through the books. He adores them and is always begging to read more chapters.There are so difficult words for small children and for children in our modern world. My 6 year old son frequently stop me and asks what some of the words mean. It is great for building up his vocabulary though.

Great book for the young reader. The words aren't difficult but can still challenge a child learning to enjoy reading.My little one--6--has read this and the others in this series at least 3 times now.

Funny, clever, and lots of unexpected surprises. Light reading for kids of all ages. Works best when you read all three books in sequence.

Hard to give this one anything less than five stars. I read these books probably three times when I was a kid, and my 6 year-old loved hearing them this time.Just as much fun as I remembered.

My son really enjoyed this whole series. It's a great chapter book for new readers or kids who haven't quite learned to read yet.

Read the whole book to my Grandchildren during ome road trip. It made the miles go quickly for them AND for me!

This is great. I let my class listen as they followed along in the book! Best way to learn.

First of all, the many positive reviews are falsified. Go look at them and see what else those users reviewed. All similar type books with the same format cover. There are multiple errors in the Quant section that threw me off, but after working through the problems againi see their answers are flat out wrong. Especially the sufficient data sections. Buyers beware, book has useful parts but will likely cause more confusion and actually lower your scores if you trust the book.

The guide was overall good. It was easy to read, simple and not overwhelming. Some of the questions were a bit confusing and could have been worded differently. Or maybe it was done intentionally if the actual GMAT is that way. Questions in all sections had a few questions where I had to ask myself “What are they asking?” But it did make me think after taking the practice exams and going over the answers helped with my test taking skills.

Trash. Statement questions don't even come in the same format as the test, many questions have typos that make you feel like you can't get a good score. Highly discourage buying. Verbal section is significantly different from traditional GMAT questions. Finished the book - throwing it away to avoid anyone else from using it.

This is the single worse book for GMAT. Gladly I had other references to study from.Sample questions can be answered by a 12yo, nothing like the real exam. No preparations or proper explanations even to the easy questions.

This is pretty ridiculous. There are wrong answers in the solutions section of the book...not sure how that is acceptable. Would not recommend this book.

Finally got around to looking through this book. The study questions and the material were inaccurate and ineffective for studying purposes. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. Spend your money wisely and purchase one from a more credible publisher.

This guidebook is overall great to start. The instruction part is concise and comprehensive, but I found some errors(? Maybe an error, at least the explanation wasn't convincing enough to narrow down to the right answer) in Quant practice.

This volume is the catalogue that accompanied the exhibition of the same name at The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., from October 2011 to January 2012, and it is a welcome little addition to the literature on Degas and the dance. I say "little" because the book is in small format (8"x10.8") and only 144 pages and obviously does not compare to (nor was it meant to) the much more comprehensive catalogues of Jill DeVonyar and Richard Kendall for the "Degas and the Dance" exhibition in Detroit and Philadelphia in 2002 and 2003, or for the "Degas and the Ballet: Picturing Movement" show from September to December 2011 at the Royal Academy of the Arts in London. Instead, it concentrates on one of The Phillips's star attractions, Degas's "Dancers at the Barre" (ca. 1900) and some other works in that painting's immediate artistic environment. A necessary course of conservation (the first since Duncan Phillips acquired the canvas in 1944) led to such insights into Degas's processes and methods--he worked and reworked the painting virtually obsessively over a period of more than fifteen years--that the curators decided to make it the centerpiece of a show and gathered about thirty other works in various media from other collections to put the "Dancers" into a wider context. All these works and many comparison illustrations are excellently reproduced and make the book a visual delight.Eliza Rathbone, Chief Curator at the Collection, writes (in an essay aptly subtitled "Years in the Making") about the evolution of the painting as it was changed and varied, conforming always to Degas's evolving aesthetic concerns and preoccupations until, in its final form, it epitomized some thirty years of work on the subject of dancers in oil, printmaking, sculpture and, increasingly, pastel. This is followed by Elizabeth Steele's report on the examination of the painting through stereomicroscopy, x-radiography and infrared reflectology, i.e., the various technical tools the conservator has at her hands to peer beneath the surface and reveal all the changes in attitude, position, posture, etc. that Degas made in his quest for the perfect expression. There is an essay on "Degas as Sculptor," with special reference to the dance sculptures in the exhibition, and an interview conducted by the ballet critic Robert Grescovic with the renowned dancer and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon on the latter's reactions to Degas's ballet paintings. The volume concludes with a short consideration of the other Degas pieces in the Phillips collection and the results of their technical analysis, a handy chronology of the artist's life, a checklist with specifications of all the exhibited works and catalogue illustrations, and a selected bibliography. All of this makes for a special celebration of a very special painting, and I can recommend this volume warmly to all aficionados of Degas and anyone with an interest in dance and its portrayal.

I gave this book as a gift. The person I gave it to reproduced several paintings. they are displayed in my dance studio. I love them.
