I love this author. Everything he writes moves me in so many unexpected ways. This is another winner. It is well written love story of of an out high school teenager and a closeted teenager. Lucas is out there not caring what others think about him and he is so confident in who he is, but Kevin desperately does not want to be gay. He is so far in the closet you wonder if he will ever accept his sexuality or simply live a life of a lie. This story is a painful, poignant, moving, and well written story that captures the essence of high school and all of its drama. It includes a great supporting cast and ends with sorta of cliffhanger which leaves me hoping more book are to come with these fun and complex characters. I loved this book and so will you!

This is another great coming of age gay romance with Kevin and Lucas caught up in the age-old story of coming to grips with who you really are. Unfortunately it also tells of the homophobic bigotry that still is a part of what young people have to face when they are trying to find themselves. Hopefully some day it just will not matter and everyone will accept everyone else for who they are and there will be no having to " come out" from your secret life. Jay captures all of this and you can feel the pain for Kevin and Lucas and finally their happiness. I can't wait for more tales from Oak Ridge High.

Jay Argent does a great job writing the feelings of a boy who is dating a girl who loves him but the boy knows something is off. He hasn’t yet realized his own sexuality and cannot understand why he cannot reciprocate the love. I look forward to reading the next one.

Jay Argent continues to keep me captivated. It is refreshing to find an author who tells an amazing gay love story. This is the type of story that needs to be out there. I can’t wait until his next book comes out. Time for Goodbyes was an amazing read. I highly recommend everyone check it out

I have a two year old bus-obsessed son. We discovered this book after receiving a dvd with a version of this book (animated) on it accompanied by a take on the classic "Wheels on the Bus" song. We had to purchase this book to go along with the DVD, and now we don't even use the DVD anymore, as the book is entertainment enough in itself.This book is absolutely excellent. There was a great deal of detail put in to making this book extra special, from the manipulatives such as the door on the bus actually opening and closing to the windows sliding up and down. The book is beautifully constructed and has a lot to explore on each page. It keeps my two year old occupied and is also a great book for us to read together.As soon as I received this book, I reinforced the pull tabs with scotch tape. My two year old is gentle with paper books, but I think that reinforcing it will extend it's lifetime significantly. If it ever breaks or falls apart, I will not hesitate to purchase another one, as it is a household favorite.

This book is based on the totally wonderful Scholastic DVD production of "The Wheels on the Bus" by the Bacon Brothers. All my grandchildren love the video - the music and colorful art are just outstanding. The book has the same beautiful graphics as the video, and it is interactive. However, the tabs that make the various characters move are difficult to pull. This puts the book in constant jeopardy of tearing. My four-year-old grandson can basically handle it but is better off with help and supervision. Reading it to younger children by an adult is the alternative use of this book instead of letting the children push and pull the tabs.

I recently purchased this for my five-month old grandson to put in his Easter basket, knowing he was not ready for it but wanting him to have it as part of his collection. It is an exquisitely beautiful book and my daughter and I were mesmerized by it. She did read it to my grandson and we were shocked that he seemed riveted by the illustrations. This book is a work of art and at some point, every child will learn the words to The Wheels on the Bus song, which makes the book even more enjoyable. There is so much going on here. You pull a tab and the door to the bus opens. You pull another tab and the bus driver is moving back and forth asking the riders to "move on back." You pull a tab and the baby is crying. This may be the kind of book that adults will always want to read to children, especially when children are at that age where they are exploring and it would not be that difficult to rip important parts of the moving pieces in this stunning book. That would not be a drawback for me as I would enjoy reading this book and as the child gets older, you can explain the importance of the tabs and not wanting to rip them off. This is the nature of pop-out books and there are many of them, but this one is very special.I highly recommend this book, even if you think your child is not quite ready for it. You will enjoy it in the meantime.

Updated on 5-7-15: Our 2.5 year old LOVES this book, and we read it practically every night, pointing out different events or objects in the illustrations. I downgraded this book by 1 star to 4 stars because the quality of the book is lower than other popup or flip-the-flap books we have. We're on our third copy of this book. Some of the flap mechanisms don't hold up worse than others. Our first copy was destroyed, the second copy is downstairs among the toys, and the third copy is upstairs on the precious bookshelf and reserved for bedtime stories only. I will purchase this book again if I need to (toddlers can be curious and strong), but I'm disappointed I keep having to buy it more times than any other book we have.My 13 month old likes pop-up books the most, so I went on amazon and ordered a couple more popup books for her. While all the new books are entertaining for her, The Wheels on the Bus has become her new favorite book. She sits so still while I read/sing her through this book, completely captivated by the pages and movements (maybe also by my off-key voice). This book is a lot of fun for us at bedtime and throughout the day. It's also great at reinforcing what I've trying to teach her (like open and shut, in and out, up and down, etc). Additionally, the graphics are really elaborate. Sometimes I draw my daughter's attention to the bird on the steps, the dog running away from the lady, the person getting splashed by the bus, etc... every page is just full of extra detail and action.The downsides of this book are that the quality is a bit weak... our book is already getting soft at the seams and I can see the stitching of where the pages attach to the binding. I don't see this book being able to stand up to abuse, so it sits on a higher shelf, out of her reach. In fact, I think the book might fall apart within a year or two if we keep reading at the rate we're going. Secondly, there are not a lot of flaps for her to flip-- many of the actions require firm but delicate movements, which is not easy for a young baby/toddler to do by themselves. The Mathew van Fleet books are much more toddler tab-pulling friendly.Regardless of these issue, I still give this book a solid 5 stars. The way it has captured my daughter's attention is priceless... I can tell she really loves having this book read to her.

This is a very clever pop-up book. My granddaughter absolutely loves it! We sing the song as we turn the pages and work all of the moving (pop-up) parts. Our favorite page is the "babies on the bus", opening and closing their crying mouths. Super cute and fun! Because of all the fragile moving parts it's not a book that can be left alone with a toddler, but with proper guidance and supervision it can be loved and appreciated for years to come. In fact, I bought this book because my mother has one she bought in the 1990's that she still reads to grandchildren. It's a timeless treasure that is most definitely a keeper!

great book, essential for any Rams fan, a lot of stories narrated by the players themselves from all the ages

Easy read but stories were not that compelling. Three stars because it was a good cross section of players and not just the modern ones. Would recommend Deacon Jones' "Life in the Pit" as an alternative story about the Rams - though only focuses on one player.

GREAT READ!!!!

The book is too short, there could've been a lot more Rams interviewed.

Some of the best ways to learn about Los Angeles Rams football history is to visit JT-SW.com, go on YouTube, and of course read Game of My Life Rams by author Jay Paris.Some of the things I appreciated about this book, was the oral testimonies of various players who wore the gold and blue and Paris' humor and knowledge of Rams football history.I would say my favorite chapter in this book was the Mike Lansford chapter. He went through a lot of mental and physical drama to become what he became, which was a solid nine-year career kicker for the Rams. When you finish that chapter, you will come away with more appreciation for what kickers do. I've always appreciated kickers and punters since I was a kid, but I gained more appreciation for what those positions go through from high school to the pros.Pros of this book: This book had a flow that allowed you the reader to just fly through the pages. You got history, humor, objective writing, and some photos in this book. What more could you want from a 195-page football history book?Cons of this book: The only gripes I have with this book is I just wish it was longer (I honestly didn't want to finish this book, because I was having so much fun reading it) and a chapter with Jackie Slater should have been included in the book. It's hard to write a complete Los Angeles Rams historical text without Jackie Slater in it.In conclusion, if you want a top-notch text on Los Angeles Rams football history then you should buy this book.
